Back in September, I posted in my journal and in urban_nature too ( here), about a baby snapping turtle I had found in the Nature Preserve near my house. Today, I went for a walk down there again with my daughter and she spotted the mama or papa (I didn't look closely enough to get an idea about its sex):

The other day, while walking in the nature presere near my house, I saw what I thought was some sort of lizard in a stream. On closer inspection, I realized it was a turtle. I decided to try to catch it and did so easily - it was very sluggish. It turned out to be a baby snapping turtle:
